Life in Philippines? Read Watch This Outsourcers

The Experts Without Local Knowledge
I get angry at Internet Marketers like John Jonas who proclaim themselves experts on outsourcing to Philippines, yet have NEVER lived here, have NEVER spent any time here (except holidays to Boracay and other tourist trips)

I am SO happy people like him provide employment, (please employ more) but here is the thing I see...

Tech Invention and Startups Create Economic Growth AND Value versus BPO Value in Service

Internet marketers and their ilk don't innovate or create - these individuals simply market and peddle. So their focus is to give virtual service jobs. While these jobs employ and that's a damn great thing, the service mindset is a double edged sword.

If your focused on servicing others and what they do, your not focusing on inventing or creating.

Inventing or Creating is Growth, it provides value real economic value.

With the clients I pick, seek and market too, I am looking at building new, innovative and disruptive things. In my spare time, I have my own projects too. I speak, mentor, train and push innovation and creation not servicing.

I live in the Philippines and I see and deal with the realities of life here.

Its tough, brutal, and at times scary.

But I see light, I see hope and I see that:

THE WORK I DO HELPS PEOPLES LIVES FOR THE BETTER

I have a role and a place here.

I liked the points made in the following video -yet see it only hits a small portion of the issue. The issue is also innovation, and global leadership in industry.

I am here because I directly see that work I do can create and innovate, and it changes lives. The jobs I help create directly influences peoples lives for the better I believe that the emerging tech and web community is a powerful way the Philippines can emerge. I believe it, and I act on it.

Empower not Pity.
